WHY PRAYERS
MORNING PRAYERS
Prayer to the Holy Spirit: Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created and you shall renew the face of the earth. O God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy His consolations; through Christ Our Lord. Amen.
Partial Indulgence
Three Hail Marys Devotion: I offer these Three Hail Marys in recognition of the three privileges of Power, Wisdom, and Merciful Tenderness conferred by the Adorable Trinity on the Blessed Virgin:
· The first Hail Mary is in honor of God the Father...Hail Mary ...
· The second Hail Mary is in honor of God the Son...Hail Mary ...
· The third Hail Mary is in honor of God the Holy Ghost...Hail Mary ...
O my Mother, preserve me from mortal sin during this day. Amen.
Promises
Guardian Angel Prayer: Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God’s love commits me here; ever this day be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen.
Partial Indulgence
Anima Christi Prayer:
Soul of Christ, sanctify me.
Body of Christ, save me.
Blood of Christ, inebriate me.
Water from the side of Christ, wash me.
Passion of Christ, strengthen me.
O Good Jesus, hear me.
Within your wounds Lord, hide me.
Permit me not to be separated from you.
From the wicked foe, defend me.
At the hour of my death, call me
and bid me to come to you
That with your saints I may praise you
For ever and ever. Amen.
Partial Indulgence
Good Thief Prayer: My Crucified Jesus, wash me with your most Precious Blood. Look upon me as the good thief, who hung on the cross next to you at Calvary. A sinner, paying for his crimes but recognizes your divinity and begs for mercy and forgiveness and asks: "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom."
Dear Lord, look upon me like the Good Thief and I should be so lucky, full of peace. Amen.
Marian Apparition Prayers
Prayers taught by the Angel at Fatima, Portugal:
-My God, I believe, I adore, I hope, and I love You! I ask pardon for those who do not believe in You, do not adore You, do not hope in You, and do not love You. (repeat 3 times)
-O Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, I adore Thee profoundly. I offer Thee the most precious Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus Christ, truly present in all the tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges and indifference by which He Himself is offended. By the infinite merits of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary I beg the conversion of poor sinners.

-Most Holy Trinity, I adore Thee! My God, my God, I love Thee in the Most Blessed Sacrament.
-O My Jesus, I offer this (suffering and spiritual sacrifices to God) for love of Thee, for the conversion of sinners and in reparation for the sins committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
-O My Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of Hell, lead all souls to Heaven, especially those most in need of Thy mercy.
Prayers taught by Our Lord at Fatima, Portugal:
-Sweet Heart of Mary, be the salvation of Russia, Spain, Portugal, Europe and the whole world.
-By your pure and Immaculate Conception, O Mary, obtain the conversion of Russia, Spain, Portugal, Europe, and the entire world!
Prayer to Our Lady of Guadalupe (Mexico City, Mexico): Virgin of Guadalupe, Mother of the Americas, Grant to our homes the grace of loving and respecting life in its beginnings, with the same love with which you conceived in your womb the life of the Son of God. Blessed Virgin Mary, protect our families, so that they may always be united, and bless the upbringing of our children. We beg you grant us a great love for all the holy Sacraments, which are, as it were, the signs that your Son left us on earth. Thus, Holy Mother, with the peace of God in our conscience, with our hearts free from evil and hatred, we will be able to bring to all true joy and true peace, which come to us from your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, who with God the Father and the Holy Spirit, lives and reigns forever and ever. Amen.
Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Prayer (Paris, France): O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse To Thee.
Our Lady of Akita Prayer (Akita, Japan): Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, truly present in the Holy Eucharist, I consecrate my body and soul to be entirely one with Your Heart, being sacrificed at every instant on all the altars of the world giving praise to the Father pleading for the coming of His Kingdom.
The Lady of All Nations Prayer (Amsterdam, The Netherlands): Jesus Christ, Son of the Father, send now Your Spirit over the earth. Let the Holy Spirit live in the hearts of all nations, that they may be preserved from degeneration, disaster and war. May the Lady of All Nations, the Blessed Virgin Mary, be our Advocate. Amen. (Our Lady asks us to say this prayer in front of the image above, and a Crucifix).
NOTE: The original prayer from Our Lady included the clause "who once was Mary" but this was changed to "the Blessed Virgin Mary" at the request of the Congregation for the Doctrine or the Faith (CDF).
Our Lady of Itapiranga Prayer (Itapiranga, Brazil): Mercy Jesus, Mercy for all sinners, Mercy for all humanity. (Say this three times)
Prayer to Our Lady of Lourdes (Lourdes, France): Mary, you appeared to Bernadette in the hollow of the rock, in the cold and depths of winter, you brought the warmth of a presence, the friendship of a smile, the light and beauty of grace. In the hollow of our often-obscure lives, in the hollow of this world where evil is powerful, bring hope, restore confidence. You who said to Bernadette, “I am the Immaculate Conception”, come to the help of the sinners that we are. Give us the courage of conversion, the humility of penance, and the perseverence of prayer. We entrust to you all those we carry in our hearts and especially the sick and those in despair, you who are “Our Lady of Good Help.” You guided Bernadette to the spring. Guide us to Him who is the source of eternal life, the One who gave us the Holy Spirit, so that we dare to say: “Our Father who are in Heaven...”. Amen.
Prayer to Our Lady of Knock (Knock, Ireland): Our Lady of Knock, Queen of Ireland, you gave hope to your people in a time of distress and comforted them in sorrow. You have inspired countless pilgrims to pray with confidence to your divine Son, remembering His promise, “Ask and you shall receive, seek and you will find.” Help me to remember that we are pilgrims on the road to heaven. Fill me with love and concern for my brothers and sisters in Christ, especially those who live with me. Comfort me when I am sick, lonely, or depressed. Teach me how to take part even more reverently in the Holy Mass. Give me a greater love of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Pray for me now and at the hour of my death. Amen.
Prayer to Our Lady of Cuapa (Cuapa, Nicaragua): Favorite daughter of God the Father, give me your faith; Mother of God the Son, give me your hope; Sacred Spouse of God the Holy Spirit, give me your charity, and cover me with your mantle.
Prayer to St. Joseph: O St. Joseph, whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt before the Throne of God, I place in you all my interests and desires. O St. Joseph, do assist me by your powerful intercession and obtain for me from your Divine Son all spiritual blessings through Jesus Christ, Our Lord, so that having engaged here below your Heavenly power I may offer my Thanksgiving and Homage to the most loving of Fathers. O St. Joseph, I never weary contemplating you and Jesus asleep in your arms. I dare not approach while He reposes near your heart. Press him in my name and kiss His fine Head for me, and ask Him to return the Kiss when I draw my dying breath.
St. Joseph, Patron of departing souls, pray for us. Amen.
Prayer to St. Anthony: Blessed be God in His Angels and in His Saints. O Holy St. Anthony, your love for God and Charity for His creatures, made you worthy, when on earth, to possess miraculous powers. Encouraged by this thought, I implore you to obtain for me (request). O gentle and loving St. Anthony, whose heart was ever full of human sympathy, whisper my petition into the ears of the sweet infant Jesus, who loved to be folded in your arms; and the gratitude of my heart will ever be yours. Amen.
Prayer to St. Bridget and all Holy Saints: Help me to live Jesus' Gospel to the full. Seek for me the grace to walk faithfully in the path of perfection. Steer me to a happy and holy death with life everlasting in your blessed company. Thank you, Jesus. Amen.
Prayer to St. Francis:
Lord, make me a channel of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me bring Your love;
Where there is injury, Your pardon;
And where there’s doubt, true faith in You.
Where there is despair in life, let me bring hope.
Where there is darkness, only light.
Where there is sadness, ever joy.
Master, grant that I may never seek much to be consoled as to console.
To be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love with all my soul.
It is in pardoning we are pardoned, in giving of ourselves that we receive;
And in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen.
From the Litany to St. Teresa of Avila: Let nothing trouble you, let nothing make you afraid. All things pass away. God never changes. Patience obtains everything. God alone is enough.
Spiritual Communion:
Jesus,
I believe that You are truly present
in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Eucharist.
Every day I long for more of You.
I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot receive You sacramentally at this moment,
I invite You to come and dwell in my heart.
May this spiritual communion increase my desire for the Eucharist.
You are the healer of my soul.
Take the blindness from my eyes,
the deafness from my ears,
the darkness from my mind,
and the hardness from my heart.
Fill me with the grace, wisdom, and courage to do Your will in all things.
My Lord and my God, draw me close to You, nearer than ever before.
Amen.
