FIRST SATURDAY DEVOTION

Making Reparation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary in our Five First Saturdays Devotion

On December 10, 1925, our Loving Mother Mary, appearing to Lucy, the only survivor of those who saw our Lady at Fatima, spoke these heart-rending words: “Look, My daughter, at My Heart, surrounded with thorns which ungrateful men pierce Me at every moment by their blasphemies and ingratitude. Do you, at least, try to console Me and announce in My name that I promise to assist at the moment of death,  with all the graces necessary for salvation, all those who, on the first Saturday of five consecutive months, shall confess, receive Holy Communion, recite five decades of the Rosary, and keep Me company for fifteen minutes while meditating on the fifteen mysteries of the Rosary, with the intention of making reparation to Me.

NOTE: The Confession may be made during the eight days before or after the Communion. The Rosary (five decades) may be recited at any convenient time of the day, and the 15 minute meditation may be made at any time of the day, either on all the mysteries as a whole, or on one special mystery.

We cannot imagine the power of the First Saturdays Devotion to console Our Lady for the terrible blasphemies and ingratitude which She endures at every moment, piercing Her Immaculate Heart like cruel thorns.  Our fervent Communion of Reparation on the First Saturday of each month will bring tremendous graces and mercies to our desperate world, not only for the conversion of sinners, but even to bring an end to the punishments that are falling so heavily upon us for the unprecedented crimes of our world today!

Devotion Prayers

Consecration to the Blessed Virgin Mary

(Compiled from prayers by St. Francis de Sales, St. Aloysius Gonzaga and St. Louis de Montfort.)

O most holy Mary, Virgin Mother of God, most unworthy though I am to be Thy servant, yet moved by Thy motherly care for me, and longing to serve Thee, I choose Thee this day in the presence of my guardian angel and all the court of Heaven to be my Queen, my Advocate, and my Mother. I firmly resolve to serve Thee always and to do what I can that all may render faithful service to Thee.

Most holy Mary, my Lady, into Thy blessed trust and special custody, and into the bosom of Thy tender mercy, this day, every day of my life and at the hour of my death, I commend my soul and body. To Thee I entrust all my hopes and consolations, all my trials and miseries, my life and the end of my life, that through Thy most holy intercession and Thy merits, all my actions may be ordered and disposed according to Thy will and that of Thy divine Son.

Most dear and beloved Mother, grant that I may have no other spirit but Thy spirit, to know Jesus Christ and His divine and holy Will; that I may have no other soul but Thy soul, to praise and glorify the Lord; that I may have no other heart but Thy heart, to love God with a pure and burning love like Thine.

Therefore, most devoted Mother, through the Precious Blood of Thy Son shed for me, I beg Thee to take me among Thy clients and receive me as Thy servant forever. Aid me in my every action, and beg for me the grace never, by word or deed or thought, to be displeasing in Thy sight and that of Thy most holy Son.

O most dear and Blessed Virgin Mary, show Thyself a Mother, think of me, and do not abandon me at the hour of death. Amen.

A Solemn Act of Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary,  by Pope Pius XII

Most Holy Virgin Mary, tender Mother of men, to fulfill the desires of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the request of the Vicar of Thy Son on earth, I consecrate myself and my family to Thy Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart, O Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, and I recommend to Thee all the people of our country and of all the world.  Please accept my consecration, dearest Mother, and use me as Thou wish to accomplish Thy designs in the world.

O Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, and Queen of the World, rule over me, together with the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ, my King. Save me from the spreading flood of modern paganism; kindle in my heart and home the love of purity, the practice of a virtuous life, an ardent zeal for souls, and a desire to pray the Rosary more faithfully. I come with confidence to Thee, O Throne of Grace and Mother of Fair Love. Inflame me with the same Divine Fire which has inflamed Thine own Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart. Make my heart and home Thy shrine, and through me, make the Heart of Jesus, together with Thy rule, triumph in every heart and home.

Amen.

Prayer to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Raccolta #393

O Heart of Mary, Mother of God, and our Mother; Heart most worthy of love, in which the adorable Trinity is ever well-pleased, worthy of the veneration and love of all the Angels and of all men; Heart most like to the Heart of Jesus, of which Thou art the perfect image; Heart, full of goodness, ever compassionate toward our miseries; deign to melt our icy hearts and grant that they may be wholly changed into the likeness of the Heart of Jesus, our divine Savior.

Pour into them the love of Thy virtues, enkindle in them that divine fire with which Thou Thyself dost ever burn. In Thee let Holy Church find a safe shelter; protect her and be her dearest refuge, her tower of strength, impregnable against every assault of her enemies. Be Thou the way which leads to Jesus, and the channel, through which we receive all the graces needful for our salvation. Be our refuge in time of trouble, our solace in the midst of trial, our strength against temptation, our haven in persecution, our present help in every danger, and especially at the hour of death, when all hell shall let loose against us its legions to snatch away our souls, at that dread moment, that hour so full of fear, whereon our eternity depends. Ah, then most tender Virgin, make us to feel the sweetness of Thy motherly Heart, and the might of Thine intercession with Jesus, and open to us a safe refuge in that very fountain of mercy, whence we may come to praise Him with Thee in paradise, world without end. Amen.
