The Holy Name of Jesus Intentions

Dear God, it is my intention to always say the name Jesus devoutly, with head bowed, and at the same time to offer to you for your great glory all of the hundreds of thousands of Masses being celebrated in the world, to share in all the Masses being said, to receive great graces, and to gain indulgences which may be applied to the souls in Purgatory.

(Source: The Wonders of the Holy Name, by Father Paul O’Sullivan)

‘For which cause God also hath exalted Him, and hath given Him a name which is above all names: That in the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those that are in heaven, on earth, and under the earth.”

-- Philippians 2:9-10

Indulgences Intentions

Dear God, I offer the plenary and partial indulgences I may earn during this day for the intention of the souls in Purgatory, in particular for the soul of (___________).

As we relieve and liberate the holy souls from their awful pains, they thus become our best friends and pray for us with incredible fervor.

Daily Intentions

Monday: O Holy Spirit, Divine Paraclete, Father of the poor, Consoler of the afflicted, and Sanctifier of souls, I offer this Monday with the intention of adoring You with deepest submission and I repeat with the Seraphim who stand before Your throne; Holy, holy, holy!”

O Holy Spirit, we pray that you will enkindle our hearts with your love; enlighten us that we may understand eternal things; disperse the storms of passion that rise in us; grant us purity of life; teach us to sing Your praises without ceasing; and cover us with the shade of Your protection.

Tuesday: Heavenly Father, I offer to you this Tuesday with the intention of praising your Angels and Saints because by so doing we praise Your glory, and by honoring them we honor You, their Creator.

The Angels are sent to watch over us. Grant that we may always be under their protection and one day enjoy their company in heaven.

The Saints provide us an example by their lives on earth. Through their friendship by our communion with them, God gives us strength and protection through their prayer for the Church.

Wednesday: Dear God, I offer to you this Wednesday in honor of St. Joseph.

First Wednesday: Dear God, I offer the Mass and Holy Communion on this First Wednesday of the month for the intention of the salvation of the dying, and for a happy death for ourselves and our loved ones.

We should try to make the nine consecutive First Wednesdays similar to the nine First Fridays.

(See Promises and Monthly Devotion Prayers).

Thursday: Lord Jesus, I offer this Thursday with the intention of recognizing You as the Eternal and True Priest who offered Yourself as a Victim for our deliverance and taught us to offer Your Eucharist throughout time in memory of You.

Jesus gave us the memorial of His Passion to bring us its saving power until the end of time. Jesus gave us this great Sacrament to feed us His people and to strength us in holiness, so that we may walk in the light of one faith, and in one communion of love.

Friday: Dear God, I offer to you this Friday in honor of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

First Friday: Dear God, I offer the Mass and Holy Communion on this First Friday of the month for the intention of the Consecration and Reparation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Jesus has made great promises us if we attend Mass and receive Holy Communion on nine consecutive First Fridays.

(See Promises and Monthly Devotion Prayers).

Saturday: Dear God, I offer to you this Saturday in honor of our Blessed Mother.

First Saturday: Dear God, I offer the Mass, Holy Communion, Confession, Rosary, and fifteen minutes of meditation on the Mysteries of the Rosary on this First Saturday of the month for the intention of reparation for the sins and offenses committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Our Lady has made great promises to us if we perform the First Saturday devotion exactly as she has requested of us, for five consecutive First Saturdays.

(See Promises and Monthly Devotion Prayers).

Sunday: Dear God, I offer to you this Sunday in your honor for who You are and in thanksgiving for all that you have done for me and for all us.

According to Pope Benedict XVI, "Sunday is the day of the Lord and of man, a day which everyone must be able to be free - free for the family and free for God."

March - My intentions for March are in honor of St. Joseph.

August - My intentions for August are in honor of the Blessed Sacrament.

Prayer: O my God, I firmly believe that You are really and corporally present in the Blessed Sacrament of the altar.  I adore You from the very depths of my heart, and I worship Your sacred presence with all possible humility.

September - My intentions for September are in honor of the Seven Sorrows of Mary.

Prayer: Queen of Martyrs, your heart suffered so much. I beg you, by the merits of the tears you shed in these terrible and sorrowful times, to obtain for me and all the sinners of the world, the grace of complete sincerity and repentance. Amen.

October - My intentions for October are in appreciation for the gift of the Rosary.

Prayer: Thank you Mary for your most precious gift to us of the Rosary, the most powerful weapon for these times. I will never forget your words to St. Dominic: “One day through the Rosary and the Scapular I will save the world.”

November - My intentions for November are for the poor souls in Purgatory.

Prayer: O Divine Heart of Jesus, I ask You to grant eternal rest to the souls in Purgatory, the final grace of salvation to those who shall die today, true repentance to sinners, the light of faith to unbelievers, and Your goodness, blessings, and favors to me and to all my loved ones.

December - My intentions for December are for the preparation for Advent, the celebration of remembering Christ’s birth 2000 years ago, and for the prayerful and spiritual preparation for the second and final coming of Christ.

Prayer: God of power and mercy, open our hearts in welcome. Remove the things that hinder us from receiving Christ with joy, so that we may share his wisdom and become one with him when he comes in glory, for he lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Our Lady's Apparitions Intentions

Dear God, I offer my prayers today for Our Lady’s intentions as given to us at her Marian apparitions, in particular her apparitions at Quito, Ecuador, Fatima, Portugal, and Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Explanation(s):

- At Quito, Ecuador, Our Lady of Good Success spoke of the worldwide crisis in the Church and society that would erupt in the 19th and 20th centuries, and she asked for devotion to her as Our Lady of Good Success. Our Lady also promised that precisely when it seems evil has triumphed: “this will mark the arrival of my hour, when I, in a marvelous way, will dethrone the proud and cursed Satan, trampling him under my feet.”

- At Fatima, Portugal, Our Lady of the Rosary said to the visionaries: “You have seen hell, where the poor sinners go. To save them, God wishes to establish the devotion (Five First Saturdays) to My Immaculate Heart. If what I say is done, many souls will be saved and there will be peace.”

https://fatima.org/first-saturday-devotion/

- At Amsterdam, The Netherlands, The Lady of All Nations said: “The Lady of All Nations wishes for unity in the true Holy Spirit. The world is covered by a false spirit, by Satan. Once the dogma. the final dogma in Marian history has been proclaimed, the Lady of All Nations will grant peace, true peace, to the world. The nations, however, must pray my prayer, together with the Church. They shall know that the Lady of All Nations has come as Co-Redemptrix, Mediatrix and Advocate. So be it.”

“This will be the new and final Marian dogma. This image will precede. This dogma will be much disputed, yet it will be carried through. This image must go over the whole world. It is the interpretation and illustration of the new dogma. This is why I myself have given this image to the people.”

Personal Intentions

Dear God, I offer to you these personal intentions that I have committed to: _______________.

At times we may be asked or decide that we are going to pray for a special intention, but then it is too easy to forget such commitment. This is a reminder for those such intentions.

Mass Intentions

Dear God, I offer my Mass intention today for _____________________.

Holy Mass offered by God’s representative, the priest, is the most efficient way to help deliver souls from Purgatory. The graces that will accrue are in accordance with the intensity of our participation and sincerity. The efficacy of the Mass for the deceased is even greater for those who attached great value to the Mass during their lives.

Holy Communion Intentions

Dear God, I offer my Holy Communion to you for the intention of a Communion of Reparation for the sins and offenses against the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Holy Father's Monthly Intentions

Dear God, I offer to you these prayers for the monthly intentions of the Holy Father:

Our Father..., Hail Mary..., Glory Be...

This offering for the Pope’s monthly intentions is one of the requirements to earn a Plenary indulgence.
